Donna Jones Northington earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting, graduating cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she studied under Professor Nelson Stevens an artist associated with the AfriCobra collective. She went on to work for the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC. Northington returned to NYC, earning her MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. Originally from New York, Northington is based in the Atlanta area where she worked for 20 years in the media and entertainment industry in Atlanta, NYC and LA. Through her close association with her uncle Paul R. Jones, the Atlanta based collector, Northington became active in the Atlanta arts community, serving on past boards of the National Black Arts Festival, The Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia (MOCGA), and the University of Delaware. She volunteered her time working with the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa to advise on the Paul R. Jones collection and creates digital art, collages and paintings in acrylic, watercolor and mixed media.
